Mark your calendars! This year’s Field of Flags Summer Celebration at the Lowe’s YMCA in Mooresville is set to be an unforgettable evening of patriotism, remembrance, music, and fireworks. Here's everything you need to know:


📅 Event Details at a Glance

  • Date: Thursday, July 3, 2025

  • Time: 6:00 PM – 10:00 PM

  • Location: Lowe’s YMCA, 170 Joe V. Knox Ave, Mooresville, NC

  • Admission: Free and open to the public 


🇺🇸 Field of Flags Installation

From July 2–5, more than 800 American-made flags will wave proudly across the YMCA lawn—each one tagged with the name of a veteran, active-duty service member, first responder, or child affected by tragedy . Each flag is a powerful tribute, representing resilience, sacrifice, and community pride.


🎤 July 3 Schedule

  • 6:00 PM – Opening Ceremony
    The evening begins with a solemn and touching ceremony among the historic flags.

  • 7:00 PM – Live Music
    The local band Blue Monday takes the stage, filling the air with lively melodies.

  • 9:00 PM – Fireworks Spectacular
    As dusk falls, experience a breathtaking fireworks display over the YMCA, generously sponsored by Randy Marion Automotive 


🌭 Food, Fun & Safety

  • A variety of food trucks and vendors will offer dinner and snacks.

  • Please note: No grills, sparklers, pets, or personal fireworks are allowed onsite 

  • Guests are encouraged to arrive early for the best views and prime seating .


🎗️ A Meaningful Tribute & Community Support

  • Founded in 2005 with just 450 flags at Mooresville High, this event has grown into one of the Lake Norman area's most moving Independence Day observances

  • The flags honor not only those who served and protect but also children lost to abuse in NC, and those affected by events like Hurricane Helene The celebration is a fundraiser for critical local causes, including childhood literacy, drowning prevention, and child abuse awareness .


🕯️ How You Can Participate

  • Dedicate a flag: Online and onsite purchases are available through the Exchange Club of Mooresville–Lake Norman for $35/flag.

  • Volunteer: Sign up to help erect flags on July 2 or take them down on July 5.

  • Visit anytime: The flag display is accessible day and night—an inspiring place for reflection or family photos!
